I recently came across a quote that reminded me of seeing this contest and about the topic for this contest. The quote is "Once we choose HOPE, EVERYTHING is POSSIBLE". This is a very inspiring quote. Christopher Reeve, as most people know of, was injured after being thrown from a horse. He subsequently became a quadriplegic. Christopher showed great courage and integrity in his life in the face of seemingly insurmountable challenges and adversity. After the accident he required a wheelchair and breathing apparatus for the rest of his life. He took up fighting for others that also had spinal cord injuries. He also fought for human embryonic stem cell research. He founded the "Christopher Reeve Foundation" and co-founded the Reeve-Irvine Research Center. Christopher showed great strength, determination and compassion in the face of his challenges. He decided to move forward in his life and to fight to help others and not to dwell on his setbacks. It is very fitting then that Christopher Reeve played the part of Superman. He was a real world "superman" who would not give up and continued to do his personal best and to live on and to help others.
